Intro
Saheththiyan Sri Baskaran
Undergraduate, University of Moratuwa
Computer Science & Engineering undergraduate at the University of Moratuwa, passionate about cybersecurity and aspiring to build a career as a Security Engineer. I’m always eager to learn, explore new technologies, and take on challenging problems that help me grow both technically and professionally.

About
I'm a Computer Science & Engineering undergraduate at the University of Moratuwa with a strong interest in cybersecurity and a growing passion for Security Engineering. I enjoy understanding how systems work, identifying weaknesses, and learning how to make them more secure.
My interests span application security, network security, Linux, digital forensics, and Capture The Flag challenges, with a strong focus on hands-on learning and problem-solving. Alongside this, I'm currently working as a freelance full-stack developer, which has helped me strengthen my practical software development and system-building skills.
I'm naturally curious and always eager to learn new technologies and concepts, often stepping outside my comfort zone to take on new challenges and improve continuously.
Community & leadership
Beyond academics and tech, I'm also involved in community and leadership activities, which have helped me build strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Goal
To grow into a well-rounded Security Engineer who understands systems deeply and can design, analyze, and improve them with security in mind.
Summary of findings
Featured projects
AI-Assisted Intrusion Detection System
A Suricata-based intrusion detection pipeline that analyzes PCAP files and passes the findings to an AI model for interpretation, surfaced through a dashboard non-technical readers can follow.
A tool that watches network traffic for attacks and explains what it found in plain language instead of raw technical alerts, so anyone, not just a security analyst, can understand what happened.
TRANCE
An automated digital-forensics tool that reconstructs Tor Browser activity on Windows by correlating registry, disk, and memory artifacts into one reproducible report.
A tool that helps digital forensic investigators automatically work out whether, and how, someone used Tor Browser on a Windows computer, instead of piecing it together by hand.
Predictive Maintenance Platform
A multi-tenant predictive maintenance platform for industrial equipment that processes real-time sensor data to predict failures using machine learning, on an event-driven architecture built with MQTT and Kafka.
A platform that watches industrial equipment sensors in real time and warns maintenance teams before a machine breaks down, instead of after.
